The Ottawa-Gatineau Chapter draws members from across Canada’s beautiful National Capital Region. Our members represent the spectrum of industries located in our region. We come from the government (at all levels), the non-profit sector, IT, for-profit, academic institutions, healthcare, the arts, and as independent consultants. We believe that through learning and connecting with each other, we have the opportunity to elevate learning and performance throughout our organizations and in the work that we do.
We strive to host both professional development and more social, networking opportunities 6-8 times per year from September-June.
Professional development opportunities are facilitated by subject-matter-experts in a number of different disciplines and are closely linked to the I4PL standards and competencies for workforce learning. For those members who are certified, they also qualify for Continuing Education Units (CEU). Over the past two years we have offered the following workshops:
Comprehensive Needs Analysis
Real World Training Evaluation (ROI)
Challenging the Learning Paradigm
Business Intelligence for Learning: Leveraging your LMS
Facilitating Transfer of Learning
Connecting your Learning Strategy to Performance Outcomes
Conducting Needs Assessments
We kick off the year with a social networking event during I4PL’s “Performance and Learning Month”, along with 2-3 others throughout the ‘year’. These more casual events give members and potential members the opportunity to connect with each other, share what they are working on, collaborate, generate ideas and learn from each other in a more organic, spontaneous way - all over a drink or two.
We look forward to connecting and learning with you
