Social media is the technical equivalent of communications meeting community - two things we know are critical to organizational cultures and the relationships within them. While social media can be used successfully in many organizations for branding and strategic promotions, it also enables connection and collaboration at unprecedented levels. In this session, learn how storytelling connects to social media use and how various organizations are using internal and external social media networks to build their company culture and strengthen participation, connectedness, community, and openness in employees at all levels.

In this session, we will explore the benefits of social media for organizational culture, examples of companies doing internal and external social media well, a process for rolling this out in your organization, and barriers to prepare for and how to overcome them.

Learning Objectives 
By the end of this session, you will be able to…
-Describe how organizations are using internal and external social media networks to build their company culture.
-Understand how these networks strengthen participation, connectedness, community, and openness in employees at all levels.
-Provide suggestions for overcoming barriers to adoption of social media.

About the Presenter

Bailey Parnell is the Founder & CEO of SkillsCamp, a soft skills training company, and was named one of Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women. Bailey is an award-winning digital marketer, TEDx speaker, and businesswoman with a talent for helping people and brands tell better stories. Her work and expertise have been featured in Forbes, CBC, FOX, Flare Magazine, and more. Her TEDx talk and research focus on social media's impact on mental health - the results of which she recently presented at the World Youth Forum in Egypt.

Future Members: $50 plus taxes

CANCELLATIONS: The Institute for Performance and Learning does not issue refunds for cancelled event registrations. Cancellations received in writing up to seven days prior to the event date will be issued a full credit voucher to be applied to another event within the respective calendar year. If it is a free member event ticket, it is not permitted to transfer one I4PL member's spot to a non-member. If it is a paid member event ticket and the cancellation is received less than seven days before the event, no credit voucher will be issued but the member may transfer the ticket to another I4PL member. If it is a paid non-member event ticket and the cancellation is received less than seven days before the event, no credit voucher will be issued but the non-member may transfer the ticket to a I4PL member or non-member to use. Please read the cancellation policy at: https://performanceandlearning.site-ym.com/page/I4PLCancellationPolicy
