Announcing the 2016 Competencies
The Institute for Performance and Learning, formerly the Canadian Society for Training and Development (CSTD), is proud to announce that the 2016 version of the Competencies for Performance and Learning Professionals will be revealed on November 3 at the annual conference, I4PL.
2016 marks the 40th anniversary of the first edition of the Competencies, which was first published in 1976. Known at that time as the Competency Analysis for Trainers: A Personal Planning Guide (CAT), and published by the Institute’s predecessor organization, The Ontario Society for Training and Development (OSTD), the CAT served the needs of practitioners seeking recognition for their professional competencies and achievement.
The Competencies for Performance and Learning Professionals remains the body of knowledge and competency framework for the performance and learning professional and acts as the syllabus for the CTDP designation. The 2016 edition has undergone significant updates to better align the performance and learning profession with current and emerging practice.
