What is a learning consultant?

Just what on earth do learning consultants do? Dr Robin Yap finds out in today’s video: and also what the best learning consultants are made of. He ‘yaps’ with Julianna Morris, Associate Vice President in HR at TD.

Audio Transcript

A learning consultant is an individual that really knows performance and knows how to influence and ensure that any of the training that you develop or design is going to impact performance…as opposed to just training.

A strong learning consultant would know the entire employee cycle – and understand the recruitment process, how to access talent, how to motivate [employees] & how to change behaviour in the work place. You would be able to tie this all into performance metrics & impact to the bottom line.

That’s a fair definition of a learning consultant in a few, crisp well-chosen words from Julianna.

By the way, sorry this is totally off-topic but I almost got distracted by the lighting and color tonality of this video. I mean it is so nice, almost cinematic. What camera did you use to shoot this? Just curious 🙂

Nicely put, Juliana! I’m going to paraphrase that for my cv and LinkedIn profile! Hope you’re doing well 🙂
